USAF F-100D Super Sabre 1/72 Italeri

Another Italeri winner, except that there are quite a few small errors which were found at a too late building stage. Worst is the canopy but that's Italeri's fault, not mine!
Decal placement was mostly guesswork as I built this model entirely without the kit instructions, they were missing between a first peek inside the box and starting to build the kit. (Am I having a some kind of trend here?)
Still, if you don't know exactly what a real Hun looks like, this model isn't too bad...

US Navy Grumman KA-6D Tanker Intruder 1/72 Italeri

Italeri kits are usually a little fiddly for me but odd enough I often get lucky with the results as with this Tanker Intruder. Parts breakdown was a bit complicated as this is a derivative of the ordinary Intruder kit. Navy Light Gull Gray / Insignia White is my favourite scheme and I like it on this tanker.

Finnish Air Force Messerschmitt Bf-109 G-6 1/72 Italeri

From Künnapuu, Ants: 100 Ōhusōidukit. Illusteerinud V.Tōnisson (Valgus, Tallinn, 1975)

Another airbrushing and weathering practice target, all freehand except wingtop splinter pattern. Xtracolor enamels RLM 74/75/76, Revell matt black #8 and matt varnish #2. Out-of-the box except reg. number and tactical #1 decals. This was fun! N.B.! I found out later that the tactical number "1" should be yellow, not white. The original Yellow 1 MT-401 of HLeLv (Fighter squadron) 23 operated from Hyvinkää Air Field in autumn 1946.

Royal Navy Grumman F6F Hellcat 1/72 Italeri

Hellcat as a weathering testbed, don't know if they actually got ever this dirty on board. Italeri kit was easy to build and the British decal version was a nice touch, as the articulated landing flaps as well.

Finnish Air Force F-18 Hornet 1/72 Italeri

An OK kit by Italeri with lots of options: 1-seat or 2-seater, Swiss, Finnish and US Air Force decals. I was quite pleased when my kids brought me this kit as a present.

Used some walkaround picture references with this kit, IIRC there were some issues with Finnish version specific details with this kit. Didn't fix any of them though, I'm a civil airliner modeller after all!

Painted with Iwata HP-C and Humbrol enamels, US grays were supposed to be right straight from the bottle but I think they are a bit dark for this scale. Or is it just my imagination?

Some weathering could be applied, on the other hand the Finnish machines are extremely well-kept.
